Description
The Rose and Crown Public House, originally a house, dates from the late 18th century and was refenestrated in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped roof with renewed tiles and a brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and attics, with three windows. There are two hipped dormers that contain 4-pane windows. The first floor features 20th-century casement windows in their original openings. On the ground floor, there is a canted bay window on the left side with glazing bars and horns, along with a 20th-century casement window with glazing bars set in an original glazed segmental head. The central entrance has a doorcase with a flat wooden weatherhood supported by brackets, and a 20th-century half-glazed door. To the north, there is a catslide extension, and a single-storey rear extension with a hipped plain tiled roof. Inside, the ground floor has exposed joists.
