Description
The wall surrounding the garden at the rear of the former Commissioner's House in Chatham Dockyard is a significant structure dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is built of English bond brick and features a coped design. The wall includes entrances on the south and east sides, each adorned with shallow pediments and piers topped with ball finials. This wall extends from the accommodation for the Commissioner's staff to the Cashier's Office, enclosing the garden area of the Commissioner's House. It is an important element within this notably complete Georgian dockyard.
