Description

New Needles Battery is a former military battery, now owned by the National Trust and functioning as a museum. It was constructed in 1893 to accommodate three 9.2-inch breech-loading guns and underwent alterations and expansions in 1900-02, 1911-14, and 1939-45. The structure includes a concrete redoubt with curved gun emplacements and semi-underground magazines situated between them.
