Description
The building at 91-94 Pyle Street is a group of late 18th-century houses with a stuccoed front. They have gabled roofs covered with old tiles, largely hidden by a stuccoed parapet, a block cornice, and a block string course. Dormers are visible on the roofs of numbers 92, 93, and 94. Each house originally had two windows to the front, recessed and with sash windows and block sills. Number 91 features a good mid-19th-century shop front with a window of four lights and vertical glazing bars, supported by Doric pilasters and a projecting cornice and frieze, with a door angled at the corner. Number 92 has one ground floor window and a recessed door of six fielded panels with two glazed panels, set within a thin Doric pilaster surround and a bracketed hood. Numbers 93 and 94 both have modern shop fronts. Numbers 91 to 94 are considered to form a cohesive group.
