Description
Shute Cottages is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The building consists of two sections, with the right part being the older section. It is constructed from Isle of Wight stone rubble, featuring ashlar dressings, and has a thatched roof with three brick chimneystacks. The house is two storeys high and has four windows. There is a deep stone plinth on the right-hand side. The ground floor includes two old three-light casement windows with leaded lights, and to the right of these is a leaded light window with L hinges and a casement window that has a hoodmoulding. The right side elevation has one window with a brick surround, while the left side elevation features an old casement window with leaded lights.
