Description
Whitcombe Manor is a good 18th-century house located on Whitcombe Road in Carisbrooke, known on the map as Great Whitcombe. The main front of the house faces south and features two storeys with five windows. It is constructed of red brick, accented with long and short stone quoins, and has a brick stringcourse. The wooden eaves are supported by a bracket cornice, and the roof is hipped and covered with slate. The glazing bars of the windows are intact. The doorway is framed by a moulded architrave surround, topped with a projecting cornice. The east front, which faces the road, includes an attic storey with two dormers and a basement. Additionally, there are three dummy windows on the other floors.
