Description

The Octagonal Pavilion in Preston Park, located approximately 150 meters southwest of the clock tower, was built around 1890. It is constructed of brick, timber, and ornamental facing bricks in red and yellow, with a tiled roof. The pavilion has an octagonal shape with two long sides facing southwest and northeast.

There is a flat-arched entrance on the southwest side that is partly glazed. The structure features a wooden frame set on a brick plinth. Between the plinth and the windows on all sides, except for three, are courses of bricks that are moulded in a wide variety of patterns, with each course displaying a different design and minimal repetition. Decorative bricks also flank the entrance. The casement windows have chamfered top outer corners, and the pavilion is topped with a hipped roof that has gablets at the cardinal points.
