Description
Numbers 11-14 and attached railings form a row of early 19th-century terraced houses in Brighton. They are constructed of stucco, with tile roofs, although the roof of Number 11 is hidden by a parapet. The properties are three storeys over a basement, with dormers above; Number 14 additionally has an attic over the basement. The ground floors exhibit banded rustication, and storey bands are present between the ground and first floors. The entrances feature flat arches with overlights. The elevations are treated as full-height, full-width segmental bays. First-floor windows are accentuated by architraves and moulded sills, with floating cornices above, supported by console brackets on numbers 13 and 14. Numbers 11, 12, and 13 have an entablature and parapet, although the entablatures of numbers 11 and 13 have been altered. Number 14 has an entablature and cornice to the second floor, with a plain weather coping to the attic. Flat-arched dormers are visible on numbers 11-13, and stacks are located on the party walls. The interiors have not been inspected. Original railings are present to the staircases and areas.
