Description
The Vicarage, dated 1897 on the foundation stone, serves as the vicarage for the Church of the Annunciation. It is constructed of random flint with raised mortar joints and brick dressings, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys over a basement, with dormers in the attic. All openings feature quoins; the main entrance is pointed-arched with an overlight and a panelled door, while there is a secondary segmental-arched entrance. Paired pointed-arched windows flank the main entrance on both the ground and first floors. The vestry and related rooms next to the church also have mainly pointed-arched windows with stepped sills. One window on the ground floor and one on the first floor are set back in a pointed-arched recess beneath their own gable, with the spandrel between them being tile-hung. The building includes brick springing and storey bands, and a statue of the Virgin Mary is positioned above the entrance. There are two gabled dormers and both end and central stacks. The interior has not been inspected but the building is included for its group value.
