Description
The monument to Napoleon Prince Imperial is located at the southeast corner of New College, Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. This 19th-century monument features a bronze statue of the Prince Imperial, who lived from 1857 to 1879, created by the sculptor Count Gleichen. The statue depicts him in military uniform and stands on a high, polished granite plinth that has diagonal buttresses at the corners, supporting four bronze eagles. An inscription notes that the statue was funded by subscriptions from over 25,000 officers and men of Her Majesty's forces.
