Description

The Church of St Mary Magdalene is a Grade II* listed building located on Paradise Road. The church features a Perpendicular style west tower made of flint and stone. The main body of the church, constructed in 1750, is built from yellow and red brick and includes arched windows. On the south side, there is a pediment above three central windows. The chancel, designed by Bodley in 1904, is also made of flint and stone and is in a decorated style. Inside, the nave consists of five bays supported by Tuscan columns. Notable interior fittings include stained glass by Bodley at the east end and several monuments, including one for Barbara Lowther, who died in 1806, created by Flaxman.
