Description
East Sheen Filling Station is a Grade II listed building made of painted brick and partly pebbledashed, with a pitched timber roof covered in pantiles. The filling station features a small rectangular layout, consisting of an office/shop at the rear and a forecourt in front, both under a single pitched roof. The rear section is roughly square and pebbledashed above a high brick plinth.
Facing the forecourt, there are two windows on either side of a central doorway. While the original apertures and cills remain, the glazing and door have been replaced. The large window on the west side retains its original Crittall-type glazing, but the smaller window and doorway on the east side have been blocked up. The low-pitched chalet-style roof has a boarded soffit and deep overhanging eaves supported by moulded triangular brackets. At the north end, the roof is held up by two square brick piers, with modern petrol pumps positioned between them. The gable features applied half-timbering and a scroll finial. The interior of the shop has been completely modernised and is not of special interest.
