Description

The statue of Sir Winston Churchill, along with its plinth, was created by David McFall RA between 1958 and 1959. It is situated on Woodford Green at the junction of Woodford Green High Street and Broomhill Walk.

The statue is made of cast bronze and stands at a height of 2.6 meters on a tall square plinth made of rough Cornish granite. The larger-than-life sculpture depicts Churchill in a suit, crossing the lawn at Chartwell. The front of the plinth is inscribed with 'WINSTON S. CHURCHILL,' while the rear of the bronze base bears the inscription 'McFALL 1959.'
