Description

Miramonte and the associated garage with a flat above, located to the northwest, were built in 1937 by architect E Maxwell Fry. This property is designed in the International Modern style, featuring white painted reinforced concrete and flat roofs. The building has an L shape, with its main facade facing south. It is two storeys high, characterized by long horizontal windows and a canted bay on the left that includes a sunroom. Above the sunroom, there is a reinforced concrete canopy extending to the first floor.

To the right, a set-back end of the rear wing is visible, which has a canopied balcony on the first floor, enclosed by a metal railing and wire mesh infill. A roof terrace is canopied on the right side. Low walls extend to both sides of the house. The entrance is accessed via a long concrete path with a canopy, accompanied by a screen wall on the right. To the left of the entrance, there is a two-storey glazed staircase.

Adjacent to the road, there is a square two-storey block that contains garages and a chauffeur's flat above. This block features horizontal strip windows on both storeys on the left side, with double glazing fitted to the ground floor. The first floor has a balcony with a curved corner and canopy on the right, leading to the flat, which is accessed by an external steel spiral staircase. To the left of the garage, there is a curved screen wall with steps behind it, displaying the word "Tradesmen" in small sans serif capitals. The garden in front of the garage is enclosed by a tubular steel fence with wire mesh infill, and there are main and smaller gates at the entrance that match this design. The interiors of the property have not been seen.
