Description
The Lodge and gatepiers at Four Acres is a former lodge that now serves as accommodation for a management training centre. It was built around 1929 by George Warren in the Vernacular Revival style. Originally, it housed servants from the main house, Four Acres. The structure is primarily made of brick in stretcher bond, featuring a central timber-framed gable with plastered infill, a hipped tiled roof, and two brick chimneystacks.
The building is one storey with attics and has four windows. The casement windows were replaced to match the original design in the late 20th century. The front elevation showcases a central timber-framed gable with carved bargeboards and a band above the eaves level. The ground floor has an overhang supported by wooden brackets and includes two plank doors and two casement windows. There is one hipped dormer window on each side and two at the rear, along with four casement windows on the ground floor.
Adjacent to the lodge are a pair of circular brick gatepiers topped with conoid tiles, which complement the lodge's design.
