Description

The building at 3 and 5 Thames Street dates to 1901. It is a three-storey building with an attic, arranged in three main bays. A modern shop occupies the ground floor. The upper floors are clad in buff terracotta, some of which has been painted. The first and second floors feature continuous mullioned windows. The first floor windows are punctuated by balusters and incorporate a central arched motif. Ionic fluted pilasters are present on the second floor. The building has an elaborate, three-tiered gable with applied Ionic columns and a broken, scrolled pediment. A slate mansard roof completes the structure.
