Description
Botwell House is an early 19th century house located on Botwell Lane in Hayes. This three-storey building features three windows and is notable for its fairly large scale. It has a fairly low pitched hipped slate roof with a panelled wooden eaves soffit. The exterior is finished in stucco with incised lines above the first-floor cill band. Below this, the stucco is rusticated, with the rustications forming voussoirs around the openings. The house has recessed sash windows with delicate glazing bars, and the windows on the first floor are set in segmental arched recesses. The entrance features a half-glazed mid-19th century double door with side panels framed by narrow reeded pilasters, a reeded head, and a patterned segmental fanlight above.
