Description

The Olde Cottage is a 16th-century timber-framed building that has undergone significant alterations. It stands two storeys high and features two windows. The front, which is made of 18th-century or early 19th-century brick, has a dentil cornice and is currently whitewashed. The roof is tiled. The first-floor windows are sashes with glazing bars, while the ground floor has modern projecting windows. There is a six-panel door set in a modern gabled porch. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a later lean-to on the north side. Inside, much of the timber is exposed, with beams and joists made of chestnut. The roof has side purlins with wind braces, and there is an inglenook fireplace. To the left, there is a two-storey stable wing with one window, built around 1800.
