Description

Elder Farmhouse is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed house located at right angles to the road, with an 18th century front wing that is two storeys high and features two windows in red brick, accented by a diagonal brick cornice. The roof is hipped and tiled, while the older part of the house has a very high pitched roof that has been renewed with machine tiles. The walls are now pebble-dashed. Most of the windows are 19th century casements, with two early to mid-19th century sashes featuring vertical bars on the front. Inside, there are some exposed timbers, including a notable ground floor ceiling with chamfered beams and joists. A modern porch and door have been added to the side.
