Description
The Harlington War Memorial is a stone Celtic cross dedicated to the First World War, with later additions for the Second World War. It features a tall stone cross that stands on a three-step base, which is set upon a trapezoidal plinth and a stone platform. The front face of the middle step has the inscription: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD." The front face of the plinth is inscribed: "THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED / IN PROUD AND LOVING MEMORY OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 / (names, in three columns)." The back face of the plinth reads: "AND OF THOSE WHO GAVE / THEIR LIVES IN / THE SECOND WORLD WAR 1939-1945 / (NAMES) / KOREA 1951 / (NAME)."
