Description

Orchard Cottage is a small, two-storey cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated with its gable end facing the road. It features two windows on the return side and is constructed of painted brick with a slated roof. The west side has some weatherboarding, and the windows are modern casements. Inside, the cottage reveals its timber-framed structure, with a 16th-century front bay that includes heavy chamfered beams, and a 17th-century rear bay that is of slightly lesser quality. It is likely that Orchard Cottage was originally part of a larger building, of which the remainder has since disappeared.
