Description

The Stables, formerly known as the King Henry public house, is located on Bath Road in Longford. The back section of the building retains its original character, while the front has been rebuilt using some salvaged materials after a fire. The structure features exposed timber framing with brick infill and tiled roofs. The bay directly behind the front section dates from the 16th century and includes a truss with a very heavy arch-braced tie beam. A brick inscribed with the date 1691 may indicate the construction date of the adjoining timber-framed section. Further back, there is an addition likely from the early 19th century.
