Description

26 and 26A Crown Street is a former public house known as the Bricklayers Arms, which was first licensed in 1751 and closed in 1907. The building dates from the late 18th century or possibly the early 19th century, and may have an earlier core. It stands two and a half storeys tall and is constructed of red brick, featuring a rendered parapet wall above a simple brick dentil cornice. The façade includes three sash windows and two dormers. There is a central door, a later door in the right-hand bay, and a three-light window that has been inserted between the two.
