Description

The White House and garden walls to the east, south, and west are a late 17th-century structure with some alterations. The main south front features three storeys and three windows, topped by a moderately high pitched hipped roof that has been renewed with modern pantiles. The exterior is stuccoed, likely in the late 18th or early 19th century, and includes flat angle pilasters and a first-floor cill band. The parapet has stone coping. The ground and first-floor windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars, most of which have been renewed, while the second floor has modern casement windows flanking an early 19th-century sash window with glazing bars. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and features a patterned elliptical fanlight set in a plain reveal. A Doric porch with fluted columns and a replaced blocking course adorns the entrance.

To the side facing Crooms Hill, there is a two-bay return that has a full-height round bow with a triple window. The garden walls, built of late 17th-century red brick and varying in height, are higher on the south side and include an entrance between square brick piers topped with ball finials. The east wall facing the park is very high, while the west wall is stone-coped with sloping bricks in the taller northern section. The brick plinth is in two planes, although it is now mostly rendered.
