Description
The Royal Arsenal Middle Gate, built in 1843, is a gateway made of artificial stone featuring cast-iron gates. It is flanked by four vermiculated piers that have scrolled brackets supporting a cornice and a blocking course. A later addition is a clock located on the second pier from the west. The gates are wrought-iron and segmental-arched, with outer wickets. Attached to the gateway is a brick boundary wall, dating to around 1800, which extends approximately 60 meters to the west.
