Description
De Bohun Library and Health Centre is a building constructed in 1938-1939 by W T Curtis and H W Burchett from the Middlesex County Council's Architects' Department. It is made of red diaper brick with concrete floors, roof, and stairs. The health centre is located on the ground floor and is accessed through a single-storey front section. The library is situated on the first floor, reached via a side entrance and a projecting staircase tower. All windows are metal casements with horizontal panes; those on the ground floor and staircase tower are arranged in vertical strips, while the first-floor windows form a continuous horizontal band beneath a moulded deep eaves cornice. The doors feature similar glazing. At the front of the building, there is a pair of iron gates designed in the art deco style. This building complements the larger De Bohun School next to it, forming a cohesive group.
