Description

The School, built in 1784, is a single-storey structure made of brown brick with a gabled old tile roof. It features two tall sash windows that have segmental red brick arches. The central doorway is round-arched and includes key and impost blocks. Above the doorway, there is a statuette of a female pupil holding an open book, set in a rounded arched niche with a keyblock. Below the statuette, an inscription reads: "A Structure of Hope, Founded in Faith and Based on Charity, 1784." The School is part of a group that includes Nos 20, 20A, 22, 22A, and 24.
