Description
The Church of the Holy Innocents, built between 1894 and 1895 by architect G F Bodley, is a notable stone structure. It features a nave and chancel under a single roof, with aisles that extend the entire length of the building. The nave arcade is designed in the Perpendicular style and consists of five bays, supporting a painted barrel-vaulted roof. Inside, there is a wooden rood screen that spans the full width of the church, along with a matching pulpit. The east window showcases stained glass by Kempe. The church also includes a north porch and is surrounded by stone boundary walls, which have gate-piers topped with gabled roofs.
