Description

The Church of St George, built between 1863 and 1865, is designed by the architect Barnes and constructed from Kentish ragstone in the Decorated style. The church features a west tower topped with a spire, which was rebuilt by Ernest Newton between 1905 and 1906. It has a clerestoried five-bay nave with north and south aisles, transepts, and a canted apse to the chancel, along with a south porch.
