Description

The Bickley War Memorial is a war memorial unveiled in October 1920, designed by Lieutenant Colonel WG Newton. It is situated in the grounds of the Church of St George, which is also a listed building.

The memorial is made of limestone and features a cross at the top, along with a bronze orb. The structure includes a plinth with two steps, each having a moulded nosing that consists of a fillet, astragal, and cavetto. Above the steps is a cuboid base that supports an octagonal column shaft, which has a moulded octagonal capital. At the top of the column is a bronze orb finial, topped by a bronze cross. The south face of the base is inscribed with the dates 'MCMXIV / MCMXIX'.
