Description
38 Lodge Road is a detached house built between 1934 and 1935 by Tecton and Godfrey Samuel. The structure is made of mass reinforced concrete and features a flat roof. It stands two storeys tall, with a garage located in the basement on the north-east side.
The entrance facade includes a projecting single-storey wing on the left, with the entrance positioned to the right of this wing. The entrance is set within a loggia supported by narrow metal columns, and the back wall of the loggia curves forward to the right. The upper storey has a ribbon window.
The rear facade is equally significant, showcasing six bays. The dining room wing slightly protrudes to the right, and the ground floor is almost entirely glazed. There is a flat floor with a continuous balcony on the left and a separate curved-fronted balcony on the right. The original metal window frames and a metal bar at the parapet are notable features.
Inside, the house retains its original fittings, including cupboards, a fireplace, and a staircase.
