Description
The Main Pumping Station, built in the late 19th to early 20th century, is constructed from squared Kentish ragstone blocks and features one to three storeys, with the southwest portion rising to three storeys. The building has a tiled roof with buttresses and includes four metal-framed vertically opening casement windows. The ground floor windows are adorned with cambered architraves, while the first-floor windows have flat architraves, with some round-headed windows on the side elevation. The second-floor windows are lunettes. Attached to the main structure is a one-storey section with a renewed tiled roof, buttresses, and three round-headed windows. On the southeast side, there is another one-storey section with two gables that contain lancet windows and tall lunettes on the ground floor, along with buttresses and a chimney.
