Description
The old partially disused pumping station, located to the southeast of the main pumping station, dates from the late 19th century and has an irregular form. It is two storeys high and constructed from Kentish ragstone rubble, featuring some long and short quoins. The building has a hipped slate roof. On the southwest elevation, there is a circular turret topped with a pointed slate roof and lancet windows. A stone stringcourse and buttresses add to its architectural detail. At the south angle, there is a semicircular staircase. To the northwest, there is a one-storey portion with a stepped gable end, which is now clad in asbestos sheeting. The gable features a blind four-centred arch with lunette windows.
