Description

The building comprises a group of cottages, originally founded circa 1679 as the Jesus Hospital or Ravenscroft Cottages for "six poor ancient women of Barnet" by John Ravenscroft. It was later altered and largely rebuilt in the late 19th century. The construction is brick with stone dressings and a tiled roof. It features casement windows, plain doors, and tall chimneys. Surviving elements from the original 17th-century building include a central archway, a plaque, and a pedimented gable. Gate piers bear carved stones marked 'JR' and '1679'.
