Description
Number 10 on Shirehall Lane is a building from the late 17th century or early 18th century, consisting of two parts that are unified by a red brick front, likely added in the late 18th century. It features fairly high-pitched hipped tiled roofs, with the eastern roof end facing the road and partly hidden by a parapet. The building has two canted bays that rise two storeys and have hipped tiled roofs, which are fitted with modern glazing and louvres. The central entrance door has four fielded panels and two flat panels, topped with a cornice head and a rectangular fanlight set in a panelled reveal. The doorcase is adorned with fluted columns and an entablature featuring a frieze of Adam style decoration and a fluted cornice. There is also a late 19th-century two-storey extension on the left side.
