Description
62 and 64 Corringham Road are a pair of houses built in 1911 by architects Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with red brick dressings and have a tiled roof. The gable end of No. 64 has been faced with stucco since it was built. The houses are two storeys high and have a symmetrical two-window range around a party wall, with an axial ridge stack. They are designed in a Vernacular Revival style and feature canted bays on the ground floors. Each house has two-storey, gabled-ended wings at the rear, which present a one-window range to the path beside the gable end of the main block, with entrances located in these rear wings. The openings and windows are flat-arched and of original design. These houses are included for their group value with Nos. 66-76 Corringham Road and 1-17 odd and 2-18 even Corringway.
