Description

Wyldes Farm is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed, three-bay, lobby entry house located on the fringes of London. This rare surviving farmhouse is faced with weatherboarding and has two storeys with two horizontally sliding windows. The roof is tiled, and there is a plain doorway with a hood. To the left, there is an extension featuring a tripartite sash window. The house was frequently visited by William Blake when it was occupied by John Linnell. In the 20th century, Sir Raymond Unwin lived here and converted the adjoining barn into part of the dwelling while overseeing the development of Hampstead Garden Suburb. The roof was reconstructed in 1981 following a fire.
