TQ 2880 NW and SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER PARK STREET, W1 68/79 ;79/2 (east side) 19.8.82 Nos.14 to 22 (even) (Including No. 68 Mount Street) G.V. II Terraced town houses. 1896-97 by Balfour and Turner. Red brick with flush stone quoining, string cornices and window dressings, slate roofs. Restrained Queen Anne with Free Style Jacobethan. 3 storeys and basement with sheer attic storey or gabled attics. Each front 2 windows wide with long return elevations to No. 14 and No. 68 Mount Street. Tudor arched recessed porches in pairs, the end houses with entrances in returns. Square and canted bay windows with glazing bar sash lights between mullions rising through basement to first floors. Boldly bracketed main cornice above which rises tall attic floor with plain parapet coping; 2 triangular gables with shallow oriels. The corners with Aldford Street and Mount Street have diagonally set square bay windows, of 2 sash lights, finished off above parapet with leaded domical roofs. Similar details to return elevations. Prominent chimney stacks. Cast iron area railings. Part of Balfour and Turner's improvements to this part of the Grosvenor Estate. Survey of London; Vol. XL
