Description

A group of nine lampstands, numbered 4 to 12 consecutively, dating from circa 1828. The lampstands are constructed of cast iron, featuring tapered square bases and octagonal shafts. Lampstands numbered 7, 8, 9, and 10 have Nico lanterns with single ladder bars. The remaining lampstands have mid-19th and later century additions consisting of necks and Rochester lanterns. All lampstands bear the George IV cipher on their bases. These lampstands form part of a larger sequence that continues under Carlton House Terrace.
