Description

The Church of St Anne, a Roman Catholic church built in 1850, was designed by architect Blount. It is constructed from Kentish ragstone and features a combination of Early English and Decorated architectural styles. The west doorway is set beneath a triple gabled feature that includes niches. Above the doorway is a large rose window, which is topped by a band of arcading in the gable end. Buttresses separate the central part of the church from the aisles and also flank the outer sides. Finials are positioned above the roof line. St Anne's Church, along with the Presbytery and the Presbytery garden wall, forms a group that is associated with the nearby structures on Deal Street.
