Description
Nos 683 to 691 on Commercial Road, built in the early 19th century, are the remaining five houses of a terrace. They are constructed of stock brick and feature a stucco eaves cornice and blocking course. There is a band at the first-floor sill height. The buildings are three storeys high with basements and have two windows each, most of which have plain reveals and intact sash windows with glazing bars. The doors are round-headed with fanlights and fluted quarter columns, and the doors are panelled. However, the facade of No 691 has been rebuilt, and its door lacks quarter columns and is not the original door. Nos 683 to 691 form a group.
