Description
This is a house located at 67 Hopton Street, built around 1702. It is constructed of brown brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building has a square plan and is set back from the street, with a later single-storey extension on the left side. The house has two storeys, a basement, and an attic, featuring four bays. It has overhanging eaves with a moulded timber cornice and a brick string course at the first floor level. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a square-headed light above, set in a pilastered timber doorcase that includes consoles and a moulded cornice that extends across the front. The windows are sash style with glazing bars in flush frames, although the two left openings on the first floor have been bricked up. There is a central five-light dormer with a hipped roof.
In front of the house, there are contemporary wrought-iron railings and an overthrow to the gate, which is situated above a low wall. The interior has not been inspected.
