Description
Number 3 is a commercial building located on Stamford Street, dating from around 1875. It is constructed of stock brick with stone dressings, featuring a roof that is hidden behind a parapet. The building has four storeys over a basement and a nine-window range, which is divided into three bays by giant pilasters on the first and second floors, with the top floor designed as an attic.
The ground floor is rusticated and includes a segmental-arched entrance located in the third window range. The remaining openings on this floor are flat-arched with keyed lintels, and the entrance is topped with a bracketed cornice. The first-floor openings are segmental-arched, while those on the second floor are round-arched and separated by colonnettes. A heavy cornice caps the attic, and the attic windows feature stepped brick arches. The upper-floor windows are 2x2 sashes, while the ground floor windows are tripartite with 1x1 sashes. The building is robustly detailed and constructed from contrasting materials, with much of the ornamentation made from cut brick.
The interior has not been inspected. The property also features area railings and forms a group with Number 1 Stamford Street.
