Description
Numbers 59, 61, and 63 on Bermondsey Street are early to mid 19th-century houses that have been converted into offices. They are constructed of brick in Flemish bond and feature a parapeted roof. The building has two storeys and an attic above a basement, with a three-window range. Access to the entrance is up steps, which is centrally located and flanked by a pair of windows. The ground-floor openings and the central window on the first floor are all round-arched. The bricks used for the jambs and arches of the ground-floor openings are treated to resemble rusticated masonry, with voussoirs and keystones. All upper-floor windows have architraves with keyed lintels, while the first-floor windows in the first and third window ranges have eared and shouldered architraves, and the attic windows have only eared architraves. The building features brick corner quoin strips, a storey band between the ground and first floors, and a sill band for the attic windows. A modillion cornice adorns the parapet, and there are stacks on the end walls. The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes railings for the stairs and area.
