Malt Store, Sarsons Vinegar Factory

The Malt Store at Sarson's Vinegar Factory is a building dating from around 1825 to 1830, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of stock brick laid in Flemish bond, featuring a stone parapet and a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has four windows. The west side has cambered windows, while the east front displays irregular fenestration, primarily consisting of cambered windows, with one blank window on the second floor to the left and a pivoting window below. The ground floor includes a later 19th-century pivoting casement, three round-headed arches, and a round-headed doorcase. An iron crane is attached to the left side, alongside a wooden lucarne and a 20th-century bridge with external steps.

Inside, the north part of the building contains two filled-in round-headed arches and iron girders. The south side features a stone-flagged floor and two cast-iron columns that support a wooden tie beam. The first floor has three round-headed arches, and both the first and second floors are supported by wooden beams. The roof is a queen post design.
