Description
Stanstead Lodge is a large house built in the Gothic style during the third quarter of the 19th century. It stands two storeys tall and features three windows. The fairly high-pitched roof is slated and has several chimneys topped with ornamental terracotta shafts. The exterior is finished in stucco, with a cornice and a battlemented parapet. The first-floor sash windows are adorned with hoodmoulds, while the ground floor showcases Tudor arched, two-light windows set in square bays, which are flanked by pinnacled pilasters. There is a prostyle porch with Tudor arches and similar pilasters. To the right, there is a one-storey, one-window extension that matches the main building's style, and a conservatory is located on the left side. The rear elevation features a crow-stepped gable.
