Description

This is a late 19th-century railway bridge situated north-west of the junction with Guernsey Grove. The bridge is constructed of greyish yellow brick with red brick and stone dressings, showing some signs of wear. It features an elliptical main arch spanning a roadway and two round arches spanning pavements to either side. The side arches are framed by wide rusticated pilasters supporting an entablature detailed with brick modillions and a stone cornice. A parapet of red and yellow brick sits above this. Panels, similarly shaped, are set above the side arches and within the spandrels of the main arch, all outlined in moulded red brick.
