Description

Woodlands House is a detached house built in 1875 for Sir Luke Fildes by architect R Norman Shaw. It is designed in the Queen Anne style with a picturesque composition. The building has an 'L' shaped plan, featuring an advanced three-storey wing on the right with two main bays, and a recessed two-storey wing on the left, also with two main bays. The façade includes long sashed windows framed by brick pilasters, an eaves cornice, and a pitched hipped roof. There is a cupola on the left and a dormer on the right, along with a roof balustrade and tall chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
