Description

Leighton House, now a museum, was the home and gallery of Lord Leighton, built between 1866 and 1896. It was designed by Professor G. Aitchison and consists of two blocks. The house is constructed of red brick and features a Turkish tiled dome on the left projection, along with a heavy modillion cornice on the right side. The gallery, which is later and connected but detached from the house, is made of brown brick. The interiors of the house are very fine.
