Description

This is a terrace of six houses, Nos. 1 to 7 (odd), located on the east side of Onslow Square, built in 1856. The design is classical. The houses are constructed of stucco, with a slate roof. They are three storeys and have an attic, as well as a basement. The attic features a balustraded parapet. The main cornice incorporates an elaborate “Doric” frieze. Balconies to the first floor are set back and have cast iron balustrades in a crinoline shape. The terrace has symmetrical projecting portions to each end, with the first-floor windows in these sections each having their own entablature and attached columns. The ground floor has horizontal grooving and Ionic porticos. The windows are square-headed, except for those on the ground floor, which are segmental-headed.
